Uneventfulness...

This week has been pretty uneventful. I think I like it like that. :) We had Monday off to celebrate our Presidents. It was a great day. Kraig and I cleaned the house really well and just marked stuff off of my "to-do" list. It was nice to feel accomplished. We still have a lot left but it was nice to say that we did some things and not let the day get away from us. We had Bible Study Tuesday with a great group of friends. We have started a new book called The Life of God in the Soul of Man by Henry Scougal. He's an old dead guy so it should be good and hard to understand. We will see how this goes. Then it was smooth sailing through the rest of the week. We filed our taxes and this is the first year that we will be getting MONEY back! Praise the Lord ~ we so badly want to pay off the truck so now we are just a little bit closer to that goal. :) Today, we had to chance to go visit some dear friends. We decided to meet half way which landed us in Scottsboro,...

Last year we got a dog...this year, baby stuff...

Last year for Valentine's we got a dog... Kraig loves dogs. He loves for them to play with and love on him. Lick him and just be "man's best friend." Well, I'm allergic. And I fought this for a long time. Mainly because they are a lot of work and we are rarely home to take care of a dog. Well, last year for Valentine's, I caved in. I told Kraig the only way we could get one is if it is hypoallergenic. And I also wanted to rescue one and when I was looking I soon realized they are hard to come by so I thought we would never find one, which was ok by me. :) So, last year we went looking at all the shelters and they had none. We heard about 2 ladies who rescue Malti-poos and thought we would go give it a shot. When we got to the place, I liked none of them. :( We saw a poodle mix and Kraig loved him but he was already adopted. We got to talking to the lady and we told her what we needed and she said she had a schnazuer. She started to explain him ...

Well - in DUE time all news will come out

I don't even know where to begin... I guess the most recent news would be that we are going to have a surprise visit from the stork in June and it's a BOY! I am sure I will update more later because it being a surprise has come many other surprises that we have had to work through so that is all DUE time. :) Also, I think last I wrote, my dad was being shipped off to Kuwait. Well, he's back and working in Nashville as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the state of Tennessee. He's pretty important. We are so very proud of him. He does his job well. We are trying to buy a house. That's another big thing going on in our lives. Mainly because we have a new addition and we need to be more stablized. Maybe so, maybe not...but we feel like this is the next move that we should make. Now, if only we could find a house :) In DUE time again, I'm sure the Lord will place the perfect house in front of us. So, PLEASE, PLEASE pray we can find something suitable for u...

2011 is here with a BANG!

O my heavens...am I stressed?! I am so excited for this new year and all the things it presents itself with. I am also stressed with everything that it brings...goodness...but with the Lord's help, we will make it through! Praise Him!! Well, I have made a list of resolutions. I rarely ever make them b/c I rarely keep them. I am not good at committing to things. But I really want to make this new year count! I want to make Kraig and my life matter. We want nothing more than to glorify Christ with our relationship and we want to do His will. But that will not come easy. We will have to make sacrifices. We will have to make the hard decisions. We will make our lives better. So, I have compiled a list of things I want to do in my life to help this along. :) 1. I have resolved to strengthen my relationships. I want to pray more. I want to be in His word everyday. Through this, He will strengthen Kraig and my relationship as well as those around us. ...

New Year, New Plan.

I have a lot of things going on right now and I am back and ready for the New Year. I plan on sharing all of our new plans and new endeavors soon. But for now, know that I will not short-change you and I plan on sharing... :) So excited and overwhelmed by the New Year! :) Waiting for a free minute to share everything... ashleigh

we're back!

Well, we are back. It has been slow-going at the Givens' house! Well, for me(Ashleigh) at least. I think the jet lag really hit me pretty hard. Kraig says he was fine and seems to be so that is good. But other than that, we have been trying to get into a regular schedule. I got my coupons this past week and I am pretty excited about getting started on that again. I really missed shopping. haha I guess every girl does when she can't for a time. I know I did. I missed the thrill of getting the best deals, going to the grocery stores for just things on my lists with coupons and just organizing my coupons and setting out to have the best strategy for getting the best deals. I have missed it. I think I may have a problem. :) O well, I should be able to budget this week in order to go out to see what I can find and I am so excited about that. Kraig is back to work and so excited. He has been in inservice and meetings and getting everything ready mode so he is so r...

We're almost done

Well, we are almost done. We are wrapping things up and getting things ready for our last Sunday service. The week started out rough when I woke up with a migraine Monday morning. So, Kraig and Hunter stained the porches all around the house. The house has turned out beautiful. I would have gotten pictures today, however it is rainy once again. So, the finished product pictures will have to wait once again. But yesterday was very productive. Today, was a lot better. We got up and went over to the church and started printing more Sunday school materials and the boys worked on some odds and ends. The church might have to move locations if the theater is sold so we have been preparing for that all summer as well as just cleaning the building up so Kraig took the conduit that was lining the ground up and Hunter worked on the sound system thing. Then, we went down to Anchorage to pick up more paper in order to finish printing things for Sunday school, Celebrate Recovery and for...
