Thanks!

Thanks moms for all your help!

After all the feedback, praying, talking it over with Kraig, research....we may have come up with some things to try in order to get Rett to the crib.

First, let me say that all babies are different.  haha Who knew!  Schedules are important...and we have a pretty good schedule - not real strict but we have one that works for us.  But now we are going to be stricter especially at bed time.

But I am doing some trial and error things and trying to get him moved.  So, first we are doing the cry-it-out method for naps but really I'm just letting him get tired and then letting fall asleep where ever he is....I know that's not the correct way of doing it and we don't last long but I give it a try at least once a day....

I am not a huge fan of the cry-it-out method but I am willing to give it a try.  So, I am for naps.

And let's see what else we are trying...we are doing a more strict regime at bedtime....trying new baby foods, bathtime because let's face it - Rett's covered in food when we are done - I love feeding times, after bath, lavender baby lotion, playing, reading a book, prayers and then one more nursing session and then putting down by 9:00.  So far this week, it's been a success.  Now, we just need to move him to the crib and see how that goes...

He still wakes up 4 or 5 hours in so we will try probably in the next few weeks.  But let's be honest, I don't know if I am completely ready for him to move.  That's just one more thing to show he's growing up.  :(  O it's a part of life....

And he has 3 teeth and one more on the way!!!  Exciting...yet, again one more thing to show he's growing up.  He can scoot/crawl backwards, clap, and we are working on some sign language.  It's loads of fun...just bittersweet.

Let's see...we start our 10 Days of Real Food next week.  Kraig and I have been on a new lifestyle change and trying to eat healthier and I have been walking more and blah, blah, blah but you can find out what it's all about here.  It's real interesting. And we are willing to give it a shot.  We have not had cokes in 3 weeks and Kraig hasn't had sugar in almost a month.  I'm working on it and for sure next week, I will stick with the plan.

Either way...thanks for all the feedback moms!  The articles and ideas are all so helpful and we are trying a little bit of them all to see what works for our little guy.

We have lots going on in the next few weeks - baby showers, birthday parties, and baseball season so spring is fast approaching and we are excited - before we know it we will be celebrating Rett's first birthday...I love watching him grow.

So, again....babies are all so different and I love learning from other moms, I love learning what works from them and getting advice from you all.

Hopefully, I'll have many pictures from the upcoming weeks...

Enjoy your rainy day.

thanks again all

finally getting some sleep - ash

some praises....

I've started this blog for days now and keep running around in circles of how or what I want to say. Bottom line... God is GOOD.  That's what I keep going back too.  Let's praise Him for a minute.... We have had a great news from our cousins that are battling horrible diseases!  There is still much fight to be had but God is good. We got great news from a friend this morning....their adoption is a GO!  God is good! We have seen God work in our kids lives and our church family in huge ways the past few weeks!  God is good! It's so easy to be in a slump especially with this gloomy weather that we have had.  But God still works.  He works in the small things and even the big things!!!   After the beauty of last week's snow, I found myself loving the parts that were untouched.  I loved looking at everyone's pictures and the beauty of it.  But then...it would get messed up.  People would walk on it, drive throu...

goodness...will it ever stop?!

Without further adieu.... Kraig and I have been called to a little church out in the valley to serve as youth pastor (and wifey). What a drastic change this will be!?! But a blessing that I never saw coming :) Kraig has been struggling off and on for about a year now about youth ministry and his (our) role with youth. He knew he loved teaching at OCA and we both loved serving the youth at Oakwood. Kraig just wasn't sure if there was more to his struggle than just teaching and just serving at the capacity that we were in. So, with lots of prayer and searching the scripture, Kraig knew that we were supposed to do something more. Well, that was that. We didn't pursue anything, we had a lot going on at our church and we were just getting into the swing of things and really enjoying our youth. About January...I guess... L O N G S T O R Y short ....Kraig got a call from a pastor that I have known probably as long as I have been in the Chickamauga area...and Kraig met thr...

I got a side hustle....

I recently became a shampoo girl... I wasn't looking for anything different.  I started a new job over the summer at Lighthouse Foster Care which I absolutely love.  I love the flexibility of it.  I love the atmosphere.  I love learning the ins and outs of foster care and eventually adoption.  I love serving the families and helping the agency grow because I truly believe it is the best in the area.  I love it. BUT.... As much as I love it and love serving in that capacity....THE LORD kept tugging at my heart... "Ashleigh, you need to get out more...Ashleigh, you have a gift....Ashleigh, are you loving people the best way you know how?" While none of these things have to do with shampoo or foster care, it does have to do with getting outside of my bubble.  I really struggle with being around people and a lot of people for that matter.  I have to do it in spurts and I have to prepare myself for it.  But THE LORD kept saying..."Ashlei...
