Gran's obit

I'm going to just post her obit and a status from a cousin that is very nicely put and captures my Gran to a tee!  :)  She was a one of a kind woman and she will be greatly missed.   "Glad to know someone that was always kind and showed love and appreciation to everyone they met. And told me that if i didn't believe in God that they would pray for plagues to come down and show me He is real. Fantastic woman"  ~ JC Thompson This quote captures her especially the first part because I believe she truly loved everyone she met and showed no judgment or hated.  She took everyone as they were  and loved them all the same.  I pray that I can take on that quality and show love to everyone I meet.   Attached is her obit.     http://www.chattanoogan.com/2012/5/30/227260/Paulhamus-Stella-Beatrice.aspx

May in a nutshell...

I have sat down many times over the last few weeks to write something and have come away with nothing.  I have no words.  I'm not even sure where to begin. BUT.....Let's see.... Life has been overwhelming...to say the least but o so fun.  It is often said, "the Lord won't give you more than you can handle."  I suppose that's true, however, I think we have hit our limit.  But what do I know. Kraig and I got the opportunity to go to the Grand Ole Opry last week.  They were doing a special for Memorial Day so they were recognizing our military so my Dad was able to get us tickets so Kraig and I stowed away for a great date night in Nashville.  :)  We had a blast listening to music and being a part of honoring our troops that do so much for our country.  It was a great time together. We are nearing the end of our pregnancy.  I'm right at 35 weeks and feel like a whale.  So, needless to say, I'm ready for Rett to be here.  T...

What to do when you can't "nest"???

Hmmm...that's a hard question to answer.  Well, since we are in the process of buying a house, we have put off    procrastinated putting Rett's room together. Some of that is strictly procrastination on my part (I'll admit) because I HATE making decisions and I don't know what to do with his room.  However, since the impending house purchase is upon us, I decided to wait until we moved to put his room together anyways...PERFECT TIMING, RIGHT!!  :) So, what do I do when I want to nest, clean and organize and have no where to do it?!                   I organize all of Rett's clothes.  I have packed parts of the house.  (We haven't even closed on the house and I pretty much have 40% of the house packed up)  It's in piles and boxes all around the house.  We have a maze from our front door to the kitchen.  :)   I clean the kitchen a lot, well....that's a lie. ...

Being pregnant = studying for exams

Ok NOT REALLY. But let's think about this. I'm not sure if any of you were like me in college but this is how I got through 4 years of it.... I would get my syllabus at the beginning of the semester just like everyone else. I would digest it along with my other class syllabuses and then begin to organize them all. I would get a new calendar every year and then put the due dates and then my due dates of when I wanted to have things done and then I would go to the store and buy new folders and sticky notes to help me along the process of passing my class and being super organized while doing it. Well, midway through the semester...I don't know if I got senioritis early (every year) or if I just lost the desire or I can attest to my last year that I met this dreamy baseball player whole stole my heart and I just lost all desire to finish school (I DID FINISH AND GRADUATE). But I don't know what would happen...I would begin to just lose interest and start projects th...

We have a name :)

We are back from vacation! RELAX, RELAX and RELAX...that was my motto for the week. :) We had a great doctor visit last week. Baby G is looking good. Have to go back next week for the Diabetes test. yay ... Then we go every 2 weeks. He will be here before we know it. We registered at Target last week. Loads of fun. :) I guess things are starting to come together. We are starting to mark things off our to-do list. I always love that. We started at the new church today, with a sunrise service. This is a big deal. I have never been to a sunrise service and they expect me to be there and be nice. We had to pray that I am awake and presentable because early mornings are not my thing. We are so very excited and can't wait for what awaits us with this new group of kids. :) We put a bid in on a house and they accepted. We have had the inspection and everything looks great so we are on to the next step. We hope to be moved by the end of May but we sure would love to be i...

goodness...will it ever stop?!

Without further adieu.... Kraig and I have been called to a little church out in the valley to serve as youth pastor (and wifey). What a drastic change this will be!?! But a blessing that I never saw coming :) Kraig has been struggling off and on for about a year now about youth ministry and his (our) role with youth. He knew he loved teaching at OCA and we both loved serving the youth at Oakwood. Kraig just wasn't sure if there was more to his struggle than just teaching and just serving at the capacity that we were in. So, with lots of prayer and searching the scripture, Kraig knew that we were supposed to do something more. Well, that was that. We didn't pursue anything, we had a lot going on at our church and we were just getting into the swing of things and really enjoying our youth. About January...I guess... L O N G S T O R Y short ....Kraig got a call from a pastor that I have known probably as long as I have been in the Chickamauga area...and Kraig met thr...

Where do you want to be?

If someone would have told me 5 years ago that I would: 1 - marry a yankee :) 2 - work with kids 3 - have a kid 3 years after being married (or have a kid, period) 4 - live in Chickamauga I think I would have laughed in their face. Well, here I am...almost to my 3 year anniversary to a YANKEE that I love dearly, work with kids day in and day out - with youth and 4 th graders, we have a baby boy on the way, and it looks like we will be staying in Chickamauga or the surrounding area. Hmmm ...it's funny (I don't think I am laughing yet) how the Lord has molded my life to what He wanted and yet it is so far from what I wanted, but it is exactly what I needed and where I need to be. I love my husband. We rarely agree on much but he is one of the best things to have ever happened to me. We joke about our disagreements, right now, we can't even agree on our son's name. Which I know we have time, I just thought it would come a bit easier. Guess not. :) It will co...
