Your new Mary Kay representative

After much prayer and fighting with the Lord, I have decided to sell Mary Kay.

I hate sales, I hate confronting people to buy things, I am not comfortable with make - up so I don't wear it....

So, I decided to sell it.

At first, it was a way to stay busy during the 3 or 4 hour long naps that Rett takes during the day but the more I fought the Lord over it, He started to give me a new direction with it.

The Lord has blessed us in that I don't have to work and we are still able to pay our bills and even get ahead on paying off our school loans so although the extra income will be nice, it wasn't the main reason for me to get into it.

The main reason, I'm not good at filling up my day and I felt useless.  Kraig and the Lord (of course) constantly told me I haven't been useless - I mean, I get to take care of Rett all day...which is great however I can only clean the house so many times and I'm not an extremely crafty person so I just felt like I needed to contribute.  And after talking with a friend who recently joined the business, who is also staying at home these day, I just thought "Hey, we will pray about it"

So, we did and I asked many, many questions of others who are also in the business.  But the thought of me asking people to buy from me and hosting parties still terrified me.  I like people but I love being at home ~ I'm a homebody and I am not a social person by any means.  So, the Lord gave me a new idea with this business which I like a whole lot better and the thought of me asking for people to buy from me seemed less intimating....

So, I plan to start in the next week....So get ready and start looking for ways to help :)

I won't be asking you to host parties - however, if you want too - feel free to let me know :)

I will probably do more catalog parties and online things so be on the lookout because I am excited about this and excited to share what the Lord has prompted Kraig and me to do with this new opportunity.

I'll keep you posted...

Update...Birthdays, MaryKay and thrift finds

Thanks for all the birthday wishes yesterday!  It was a great day.  My grandmother came for a visit.  She brought beautiful flowers and some other nice gifts.  Kraig also got me wonderful flowers and box of Gobstoppers.  :)  He still knows the way to my heart ~ a box of Gobstoppers.  He also has set me up with a massage later.  :)  I am real excited about that.  And dinner this weekend, I think.  I don't know but I know he spoils me :)  I love him.  I'm so thankful for all the phone calls and messages yesterday.  It was a truly great day....thanks and this has been the best blessing/birthday gift ever :) Here's my little guy just relaxing.  Rett getting to meet his new buddy, Truett.  Kelly and Julie welcomed their little bundle of joy last Friday evening.  They are going to be close buds, we can tell already.  :) I can't wait to get my hands on this little guy and snuggle him. ...

goodness...will it ever stop?!

Without further adieu.... Kraig and I have been called to a little church out in the valley to serve as youth pastor (and wifey). What a drastic change this will be!?! But a blessing that I never saw coming :) Kraig has been struggling off and on for about a year now about youth ministry and his (our) role with youth. He knew he loved teaching at OCA and we both loved serving the youth at Oakwood. Kraig just wasn't sure if there was more to his struggle than just teaching and just serving at the capacity that we were in. So, with lots of prayer and searching the scripture, Kraig knew that we were supposed to do something more. Well, that was that. We didn't pursue anything, we had a lot going on at our church and we were just getting into the swing of things and really enjoying our youth. About January...I guess... L O N G S T O R Y short ....Kraig got a call from a pastor that I have known probably as long as I have been in the Chickamauga area...and Kraig met thr...

Funeral, house, and thoughts

Now that I have had a few days to re coop and process the last few weeks and months...I can share some of the thoughts that have crossed my mind in the midst of it all and some of the lessons that I learned from family and Gran the past few weeks. I love my family.  All of them.  My Gran had 8 kids, they had 21 grand kids and now we are working on 20 great grand kids (I hope my numbers are right).  We have a huge family.  We are all different, come from different walks of life now but as my Aunt Dodie said at the funeral, Gran has taught us to love each other and not let strife come between us.  I think we do a pretty good job of loving each other.  I loved getting to sit with my aunts and uncles many nights that we were at Gran's and listen to stories of their childhoods and about their parents.  It was a great time.  We had a very unique few weeks especially leading up to my Gran's death.  Not many people can say that they got to say goo...
