I love the beach, crafts and MaryKay

Rett does not.

Actually, he loved the sand and had a blast exfoliating his feet but once we got near the water - he didn't want anything to do with that.  I'm sure it had to do with when Kraig put him near the water, a huge wave came in and got both of them...oopps!  But he didn't even like to put his feet in the water.  I sure hope that changes because I LOVE THE BEACH.

But never the less, it was a relaxing trip.  I was really nervous about the drive because Rett is not an easy passenger but he did really well and I was overall pleased with the ride.  He had fun jumping on the hotel bed, sitting in the sand and walking the boardwalk AND shopping of course....what's vacation without shopping :)

We got to see Grammy and Charlie while on this trip.  We were really excited to visit with them and introduce them to Rett.  It was a great trip.

Last weekend, we went on a family trip to the lake.  It was wonderful and even more relaxing!  The boys played golf and the girls (plus Rett) shopped!  It was great times and so fun to have all the family together.

This is Rett asleep on our shopping trip.  It tuckered him out looking at all the good deals.  :)

Rett and his Pa relaxing watching some football on Sunday afternoon :)
It was a good time.  I look forward to when we can go again.

Now, that we are back, it's time to decorate and organize our house.  AND CLEAN

I have been trying to teach the dogs to not get on the couches, I feel like they always stink and I always have Cash's dog hair to try to get off of them...I'm probably anal about that but I hate it...there is a reason I like hypoallergenic dogs - they don't shed!  I love Cash but I hate the hair...so I did a deep cleaning of the couches yesterday and now they are not allowed on them.  So, I found a pin on pinterest, of course, a dog bed that looked relatively easy. Kraig and I sat down last night and made them a new bed so they won't have to get on the couch.  I think they liked it...

Once I get new bed sheets - they won't be allowed on the bed either :)

Hank and Cash's new bed :)  I'm quite pleased with it.  I hope they are too.

I also made my prayer wall.  I have to find the perfect place for it and put on our requests but here it is....Thanks Anna Kempf for the inspired idea :)

I can't wait to put it in the right place and use it.  :)

Now, I am adding little tastes of fall around the house...I don't decorate, I don't like it and I don't like spending money on things that I can only use at certain times... I.E...just halloween stuff or just Christmas stuff....so while we were at the lake, we found a Goodwill that had bought wholesale from Target :)

I got 2 pairs of shoes...but besides that - I found some pinecones and a brown bowl all for $17 so I thought "HEY, why not?"  So, now I have a Fall - ish piece for my coffee table.  I added the candle.

Last but not least....I think I may sell MaryKay.  I will decide by the end of the month.  If you would buy from me, let me know...I am trying to decide if I could do it...I'm not confident on the sales side of things but I like the idea of working at home and helping with the bills and the free makeup :)

Keep posted, I'll let you know what I decide and if I come up with anymore fall-ish ideas for our house...but next order of business...hanging the microwave.  O wait...the tree out of our yard that fell last spring...ugh who knows...one of them will get done...

I got a side hustle....

I recently became a shampoo girl... I wasn't looking for anything different.  I started a new job over the summer at Lighthouse Foster Care which I absolutely love.  I love the flexibility of it.  I love the atmosphere.  I love learning the ins and outs of foster care and eventually adoption.  I love serving the families and helping the agency grow because I truly believe it is the best in the area.  I love it. BUT.... As much as I love it and love serving in that capacity....THE LORD kept tugging at my heart... "Ashleigh, you need to get out more...Ashleigh, you have a gift....Ashleigh, are you loving people the best way you know how?" While none of these things have to do with shampoo or foster care, it does have to do with getting outside of my bubble.  I really struggle with being around people and a lot of people for that matter.  I have to do it in spurts and I have to prepare myself for it.  But THE LORD kept saying..."Ashlei...

New additions....new life....

I'm going to get this another shot.  It is such a great outlet to let our family see pics of my kids and share our lives.  So...here goes. Here is just a snapshot of what you can expect as I kick this back up.... I don't think I have posted since 2015....so we had another kid.  My parent's bought a family farm so we are all out living on the Holland Homestead that I have so named it.  We have chickens!  The Lord has worked so many things out so I look forward to sharing with you those answered prayers.  I got a new job which I love.  Kraig's job has shifted.  We love our youth group and church.  Ya know....God is just so good and He provides beyond our wildest dreams. Life can still be messy and I look forward to sharing those stories with you too but here we are...just a family of 4 living life and loving Jesus through it. I look forward to sharing our lives with you and all the bumps and bruises along the way.

some praises....

I've started this blog for days now and keep running around in circles of how or what I want to say. Bottom line... God is GOOD.  That's what I keep going back too.  Let's praise Him for a minute.... We have had a great news from our cousins that are battling horrible diseases!  There is still much fight to be had but God is good. We got great news from a friend this morning....their adoption is a GO!  God is good! We have seen God work in our kids lives and our church family in huge ways the past few weeks!  God is good! It's so easy to be in a slump especially with this gloomy weather that we have had.  But God still works.  He works in the small things and even the big things!!!   After the beauty of last week's snow, I found myself loving the parts that were untouched.  I loved looking at everyone's pictures and the beauty of it.  But then...it would get messed up.  People would walk on it, drive throu...
