We went to the doctor yesterday for Rett's 4 month check up.  He weighs in a little over 15lbs and is almost 26 inches long.  He is growing great and the doctor isn't concerned with anything :)  Good news.

He also got 2 shots yesterday.  Took them like a champ.  He cried for a few seconds but then he was done and ended up having a great day.  I talked to the doc about his sleeping patterns though because I have read that he should be able to sleep through the night....hmmm well Rett is very restless and so I was concerned about that.  Well, last night we made it through the night.  He cried for about 20 or so minutes to start but he finally fell asleep about 10 and instead of nursing him to sleep again around 3 or 4 when he wakes up - I just stuck the paci back in his mouth and he lasted until 6 am!  YAY!  Then, he finally woke up at 8 am and I would say it was a pretty successful first go at sleeping through the night. Hopefully, I am not jinxing it and he will continue to sleep better and we can move him from the Pac - N - Play and into his crib in his room.  :)

Mary Kay has proven to be lots of fun.  It has proven to be a great added bonus to my day and I have enjoyed running my own business.  I am having fun being girly with the make up and getting to meet new people.

I especially look forward to next week's party for Maddux.

We are doing a fundraiser for Maddux!  Maddux is the new baby boy to my sister's friend, Amber and Andrew Erwin.  Maddux was born over the summer and up until a couple of weeks ago had not been at home for more than a week.  He was at the hospital more than at home.  It was very sad but good things are looking up for him.  He is now home and things are going well.  I think all of his intestines and stomach muscles are working correctly or at least getting on track and I know they are very hopeful for good things to come.  I know we all are.  I am anxious to meet this little fighter and to see how the Lord continues to work in their lives.  So, next week...we are having a Mary Kay party for Maddux and proceeds go to help Amber and Andrew with medical bills.  I look forward to meeting Maddux and I can't wait to party with the ladies that care so much for the little guy.  I can't wait to hear their stories.

If you would like to purchase something this next week, proceeds will go toward their family.  Let me know if you would like to help out.

Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.

some praises....

I've started this blog for days now and keep running around in circles of how or what I want to say. Bottom line... God is GOOD.  That's what I keep going back too.  Let's praise Him for a minute.... We have had a great news from our cousins that are battling horrible diseases!  There is still much fight to be had but God is good. We got great news from a friend this morning....their adoption is a GO!  God is good! We have seen God work in our kids lives and our church family in huge ways the past few weeks!  God is good! It's so easy to be in a slump especially with this gloomy weather that we have had.  But God still works.  He works in the small things and even the big things!!!   After the beauty of last week's snow, I found myself loving the parts that were untouched.  I loved looking at everyone's pictures and the beauty of it.  But then...it would get messed up.  People would walk on it, drive throu...

goodness...will it ever stop?!

Without further adieu.... Kraig and I have been called to a little church out in the valley to serve as youth pastor (and wifey). What a drastic change this will be!?! But a blessing that I never saw coming :) Kraig has been struggling off and on for about a year now about youth ministry and his (our) role with youth. He knew he loved teaching at OCA and we both loved serving the youth at Oakwood. Kraig just wasn't sure if there was more to his struggle than just teaching and just serving at the capacity that we were in. So, with lots of prayer and searching the scripture, Kraig knew that we were supposed to do something more. Well, that was that. We didn't pursue anything, we had a lot going on at our church and we were just getting into the swing of things and really enjoying our youth. About January...I guess... L O N G S T O R Y short ....Kraig got a call from a pastor that I have known probably as long as I have been in the Chickamauga area...and Kraig met thr...

I got a side hustle....

I recently became a shampoo girl... I wasn't looking for anything different.  I started a new job over the summer at Lighthouse Foster Care which I absolutely love.  I love the flexibility of it.  I love the atmosphere.  I love learning the ins and outs of foster care and eventually adoption.  I love serving the families and helping the agency grow because I truly believe it is the best in the area.  I love it. BUT.... As much as I love it and love serving in that capacity....THE LORD kept tugging at my heart... "Ashleigh, you need to get out more...Ashleigh, you have a gift....Ashleigh, are you loving people the best way you know how?" While none of these things have to do with shampoo or foster care, it does have to do with getting outside of my bubble.  I really struggle with being around people and a lot of people for that matter.  I have to do it in spurts and I have to prepare myself for it.  But THE LORD kept saying..."Ashlei...
